It's been five days since we celebrated VE Day. To be honest our celebrations continued beyond the Friday, Saturday was such a gloriously sunny day that we couldn't resist a few white wine spritzers in the back garden. It was worth the hangover though considering the weather this week.
Home schooling continues with the boys, I'm waiting to hear if work require me back in yet or if the furlough will be continued or if I still have a job! I can take comfort that I am not alone here.
I've been working on my writing assignments and writing in my journal, which is why I've been quiet on my blog.
I'm continuing to explore my spiritual side, I'm really excited to announce I have booked some time with a Psychic Medium next week. It sounds like a mix of spiritualism with coaching, just what I am looking for. I could even train to become a Psychic Medium but for now, one step at a time.
I'm writing this in between 'school lessons', I use that term loosely of course. Arthur is in Year 6, he may be going back to school on the 1st June, he isn't too keen mind you but I think it will be good for him. I am in two minds as to whether he will be safe there, it's a really tough decision to make, one which is personal to each of us, so let's not judge each other too harshly if we don't agree.
I've managed to read two more books since 1984, not my usual choice but part of the writing course suggests to expand your genres, gain experience of different writers. I have really enjoyed them; Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce and The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides, both psychological thrillers and suspense. Real page turners, it took two days to read one book, I was sneaking in a chapter whenever I could. Oh and The Silent Patient, what a twist! I have another one ready to start, its called The Mothers: Five Women, Five Secrets. One missing husband. Its another psychological suspense thriller, recommended for fans of Big Little Lies. I think it may be my new favourite genre.
If you have any book recommendations, please share and let me know why I should read them.
Now I have to go and put my teachers hat back on. Wish me luck!
